I purchased this globe as a gift for a close friend with very good taste. I think she may have been afraid to have something in her home that she didn't pick herself but when I gave it to her she was so thrilled, she still raves about it every time I see her. It worked out well for both of us, it wasn't too expensive for me and it's a high quality product that I'm sure she will enjoy for many years to come.

I bought this as a present for my husband's birthday influenced by the good reviews from others who bought the same globe. I am not very happy about the quality of the globe. When you look at it from 6-8 feet away it looks ok but from a close-up it is terrible. You can see all the cuts made to fit the map on the globe, some of the parallels where the cuts are do not match. There is also one big crease right in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean :). The base where the bass-painted part is is stained with something that I tried to wipe off but could not. Overall I am disappointed with the product. Maybe it was just my luck but the item I received has nothing to do with the high quality globe that the other people on this website recommended so highly

Got this globe specifically for the top shelf of my 6-foot tall desk. It looks fantastic...really handsome and easy to reach to locate cities, countries I read about or hear on the news. For the price, it's just right.
