Unique and attractive, the Antiquador Blue Lapis 13-inch Diam. Gemstone  Tabletop Globe is perfect for the executive office, conference rooms, lobbies and home libraries. Over 288 pieces of hand-carved semi-precious gemstones and marble are hand-labeled and hand-laid to represent each country on this amazing globe. Every one of the 50 states is also carved from an individual semi-precious stone. Surrounding each continent are rich blue oceans of blue lapis. 24K gold-plated ribbon is precisely placed to accurately depict meridian lines. This globe is supported by an elegant metal stand with beautifully curved lines and a compass in the center of the base. Due to the hand-crafted nature of this globe, no two are exactly alike.

The globe sits on my coffee table. The stand is very sturdy, though I wish it had four legs instead of three. You should buy this mostly for decor purposes; the locations of the cities are not entirely accurate. The ocean is a beautiful deep blue and the stones which make up the countries have been polished to a beautiful shine. Tres bien.

One of the legs is bent as is copper ring around the globe. I did not attempt to return it as the person that recieved it does not want me to return. Otherwise, the globe is really beautiful. The Lapis makes a gorgeous ocean background.

      The globe is beautiful and it was a big hit as a gift for her birthday. I would have given it 5 stars but there was a small little imperfection on the stand on the back side of the leg. It will never be noticed. The globe is very well made and it was shipped quickly and packaged very well.

      Service and delivery comments:

      Delivery was fast and even showed up a day before the estimated delivery date. The packaging was excellent and protected the globe very well.

      I bought this globe as a Christmas gift for my boss. The globe is absolutely beautiful, but it took me ordering it three times to get one that wasn't broken. The first time the axis was broke, and the second time one of the legs was broken off. The customer service was excellent, and I received it very quickly. The third time I ordered it, I requested that they please check it carefully before shipping it out to make sure it wasn't broken and I ultimately received it in good order. I kind of felt like they should have offered me something for my trouble, but fortunately I ultimately received it in time for Christmas.

      Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

        After seeing a similar globe in a casino gift shop, I knew it would be the perfect Christmas gift for my wife, but it was pricey. Decided to order on line. Saved a ton of money. When the box arrived, right on time, btw, my wife was so excited she could not wait until Christmas to open it. Bottom line: SHE LOVED IT. I am a very popular man at home right now.
