This is a great educational and fun tool for my grandson who is 5 and in kindergarten. I loved it too and I'm 50+. It will be used for years to come. As soon as my granddaughter is old enough, she will own one too. It will be a "right of passage" gift that my grandchildren will look forward to receiving as they start school.

The pictures are very useful, and certainly facilitate memorization and learning. However, the globe is a bit on the small side (and so are the pictures). The light is also quite faint (it leaks through the center), and isn't worth having to lag the wire everywhere.

I wanted a globe with illustrations for my 4 year old grandson. Decided to buy one for my 2 year old grandson too, I figure he can grow into it.
Very nice, but somewhat lightweight, but do expect they will grow out of it and need a more grown up one down the road.

Package and presentation of the product are excellent. Just as described in website, the lamp inside the globe doubles as night light, names of countries are easy to read for a preschooler, 4yr old, interested in geography. This will serve him for a few years until he graduates to a more complex one.
