When unlit, the globe's lithography provides an accurate delineation of stars, constellations, and nebula as seen from Earth. When illuminated, images of approximately 70 inset celestial formations light up the surrounding room. The globe is set in an attractive, molded black plastic with a black finish, and features a plastic semi-meridian that's finished in smoky gray. One 25-watt bulb is included, and the globe can be plugged in to any standard wall outlet.
