    The globe will go to the "Levitating position" and then after a couple seconds it starts to bounce and then gets sucked up to the top position.

    Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

      GREAT IDEA AS A DECORATIVE PIECE AND NOVELTY. HOWEVER, AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS IT DOES NOT SPIN PROPERLY.

If you would like it to spin you can manually start it spinning and it will spin for 15 to 20 minutes before slowly returning to a stationary levitating position.       This levitating globe is exclusive to Hayneedle and World Globes.com. We love this globe - and we think you will, too - because it's a unique gift idea for that hard-to-buy-for person. This globe easily levitates between the metal arm and the hidden magnetic field in the base. For pointers on this we suggest reading through the instructions and watching the video on the site. The globe also features soft blue LED lights that are illuminated when the globe levitates.
      This globe works wonderfully as a decorative accent or as a tool to learn geography!
